Samuel and Simran, Ringwood Hall Wedding
NOTE: This was the most challenging wedding I have had to be a part of. Not because of the couple, or the guests or the fact that it was a Fusion Wedding. No no no! It was challenging because the wedding day WAS RUINED!

Simarjeet and Samuel tied the knot in an intimate Civil Ceremony at Ringwood Hall Hotel in Derbyshire. Shout out to the wonderful John who kept me and my assistant company, fed and watered! The couple had a Sikh wedding a few months later. Sim and I attended the same University, so I was delighted to hear she wanted me to photograph her wedding.
I was super excited to be photographing my first mulicultural wedding under my new brand SORRISO Weddings and Portraits.
The night before Sam and Sim’s Sikh wedding, Sim’s family held a traditional “Pre-Wedding Party”. It was full of traditional moments, fun, laughter and dancing.
I woke up at 5:30am to get ready and happened to look at my phone. I saw I had a text from Sim at 1:20am that made my heart sink. It read:
I’m really sorry to text at this time but the wedding has been cancelled…
After exchanging various messages with Sim, the story unfolded and I rushed to Sim’s parents house. It was decided that the wedding was going to go ahead one way or another. Sam and Sim are a solid couple and with the help of her family and close friends, we were able to pull the wedding off in a last minute at home ceremony. Despite the troubled start to the day, the ceremony was beautiful. Being part of Sam and Sim’s wedding showed me complete strength, acceptance and unity between two families and two cultures.
Sam and Sim, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your two beautiful and very different weddings. Always remain unbreakable x
For those interested, since Sam and Sim’s wedding, she has released her story in her words here on The Secret Wedding Blog.
